I always thought it was implying it was hell. It’s so dangerous and scary. I feel as if I’ve died multiple times.

TW/CW: This AU revolves around a game that has violent and potentially disturbing/horror-esque themes.

TPC x Terraria, more commonly known as TXT, is a crossover AU between The Pink Corruption (either continuation) and the 2D sandbox + fighting game Terraria. Various mysterious forces carry a few of the shapes of Paradise away to a Terrarian world known rather fittingly as Not Paradise. While the heroes and caretakers find themselves in the forest, the groups have befallen a not so favorable fate.

This AU does not quite abide in the logistics of "PCC characters or Brittany's characters?", as it contains characters from either continuation.

Anything found to be based off of bigoted tropes or stereotypes within Terraria does not exist or is heavily altered within TXT. This includes the Lizahrd and their associated location and boss, as well as multiple NPCs, enemies, and items.

Other AU Features[]

  • Shapes in TXT are capable of "adapting" to certain Terrarian biomes and events (the latter of which, though taking a much shorter amount of time to wear off, makes them much more hazardous), transforming into TXT-exclusive creatures.
  • After some time (around the chapter "Unusual Viruses"), the heroes are able to explore without their caretakers.

Timeline[]

A rewrite of this timeline is pending.

Pre-TXT[]

  • Since the plot of the original/canon TPC isn’t very important to the story, it can be interpreted however TXT's reader likes. (One could even argue that the PCC TXT characters and Brittany's Continuation TXT characters originate from separate canons!)

TXT[]

  • This isn’t Paradise - The heroes and caretakers initially arrive at Not Paradise. Andrew teaches them about the world of Terraria and they begin their adventure to learn how to survive this place and how to get home.
    • The chapter's name is a play on the name of the world.
  • Seven Beasts (Eight if you count the Brain) - Terraria progression starts, and the main group begins exploring and fighting bosses. This includes the Eye of Cthulhu, the Eater of Worlds, and King Slime.
    • The chapter's name comes from the fact that in a normal playthrough, one will only fight 7 pre-Hardmode bosses, though there is actually 8 in total.
    • Prior to the addition of the Deerclops, this chapter's name was "Six Beasts (Seven if you count the Brain)".
  • Magic, and its Effects on a Shape - As they explore, the main group finds other shapes, who have all become various TXT-exclusives. This includes Lythorus and the other flowers, Cintagon and Circumsphere, Polyhedron and Chronosphere, and Ajaceare. Progression continues- the main group fights Queen Bee, Skeletron, and the Deerclops. Additionally, a blood moon occurs, in which the main group encounters Challenge.
  • Welcome to Hell - Pyrare and Pentellow explore the dungeon, only to become Shape Shifting Phantoms. Gold and Tsavorite have to bring them back home and keep an eye on them until they return to normal. Afterwards, on a trip to the Underworld, the main group encounters Cyanide and Octablaze, has an unexpected battle with the Wall of Flesh, and enters Hardmode.
    • The chapter’s name references how Hardmode is considered 'hell' for new players, but also how the Underworld is nicknamed Hell.
  • Unusual Viruses - The main group hunts/'grinds' for Souls of Light and Night to make various tools and weapons, only for Cube to be infected with the Hallow and become a viscous Literal False Hero. He chases after the other shapes with violent intent, only to be lured back into town and purified by Lunette.
    • The chapter’s name references the evil biomes and the Hallow.
  • Darude's Curse - Gold encounters the Chipzel Group, who had been dormant in the Underground Desert until the world entered Hardmode. Meanwhile, Cyan upsets the God of Torches, and Iris and Pentellow prepare to find and fight a Hardmode boss.
    • The chapter’s name references the song Sandstorm by Darude.
  • A REALLY Pretty Slime - Cyan gains the Torch God's Favor and returns home, and the main group finishes their preparations to fight Queen Slime. However, they lose the fight and decide to cheese the Destroyer via a tip from Andrew instead.
  • Two Twins, an Annulus, and a Mean Queen - After the defeat of the Destroyer, a solar eclipse begins. Quintagon, Hexagram, and Solinear (who are tranced by the eclipse) appear and kill off the main group several times. After the event, the group fights the Twins, and dies.
    • The chapter’s name references several things.
      • "Two Twins" references The Twins as well as Hexagram and Solinear. It is also a nod to Brittany Robinson and Breeoni Robinson.
      • "An Annulus" is a nod to ItzFriday's system the Annulus as well as the fact that the solar eclipse in Terraria is an annular solar eclipse.
      • "A Mean Queen" references Quintagon, who leads the Tranced, and is another nod to the prior individuals. It can also be seen as referencing Mzoyagon.
    • Name changes:
      • The chapter was originally named "Two Polygons and an Annulus", which only referenced the Danimal Cannon group (in comparison to them, the Twins, and the sisters). It was then changed to "Two Siblings and an Annulus".
      • There was some consideration of renaming it to "Three Siblings and an Annulus" with the inclusion of Solinear, however, Mzoyagon instead settled for "Two Twins, an Annulus, and a Mean Queen".
  • Missing Shapes - Back in Paradise, Dub goes searching for the shapes that have disappeared to Not Paradise. He eventually contacts the Tree of Life, and it shows him a glimpse into the Forest. Meanwhile, Polyhedron grows tired of still being a Dazed Creature despite having lived in the Forest for some time, so Quintagon takes a mildly extreme measure: the Clentaminator. At first he seems to have become an ordinary shape, however deep inside, the energy of the Glowing Mushrooms and a Dazed Creature has been converted to that of the Jungle and a Wild Thing.
  • A Journey Too Far - Things start taking a turn for the worse when Marcle comes down with Rotting Corruption and Cyan transforms into a Geometry J'imp. Meanwhile, Quintagon and Polyhedron leave town to conceal the latter's oncoming transformation, and Quintagon learns that she adapts to biomes exceptionally quick compared to other shapes. As the Chipzel Group rushes for a cure to Marcle's sickness and Cube worries for Cyan's safety under the wing of Cyanide and Octablaze, Iris and Citren go on to re-fight The Twins together.
    • The chapter's name references the current version of the game, Journey's End.
  • White Moon - Quintagon returns from the Jungle, and Pentellow immediately questions where she was before realizing she is a Wild Thing. Making the connection, Pentellow realizes that Polyhedron must’ve been purified via clentaminator. Meanwhile, Cyan is enjoying life in the Underworld, having claimed an unholy trident for use as a weapon. Cube tries to persuade him to return to the surface, but he declines, having not had enough of the fiery place just yet. Solinear and Hexagram decide to explore, but get into a predicament when night falls. As it is the full moon, werewolves begin to appear. Hexagram has to use a moon charm to fight off the beasts. Meanwhile, Skeletron Prime appears, taking those in Town by surprise, but is defeated by Iris and Pyrare.
    • The chapter's name references the Bloodlines sub-series Black Moon.
  • Camouflage - Pentellow and Tsavorite go to the Jungle to gather Life Fruit, mine Chlorophyte, and visit with Cintagon, Circumsphere, and Polyhedron. Meanwhile, Cyan finally decides to leave the Underworld, but chooses to go through the Jungle instead of the Underground, and Cube warily follows him. When they come across the others, Tsavorite runs to greet Cyan, only to spring a boulder trap which rolls into one of Plantera's Bulbs. This summons the beast herself, and the seven shapes must fight her off. Plantera kills Cintagon and Polyhedron, and almost kills Tsavorite, but cannot see him very well due to him blending in with the jungle grasses and chlorophyte. He uses this to his advantage, distracting and confusing her while Cube, Circumsphere, Pentellow, and Cyan attack. This strategy is effective and Plantera is defeated. When Cube, Pentellow, and their heroes return to Town, Tsavorite is quick to check in with Polyhedron, who is shaken up after having not died in some time.
  • We Do a Little Mischief - Citren is frustrated after having spent most of his money trying to get the right reforge from Arback, and decides he wants to take his anger out on something. Cyan is back in Town and begins reacclimatizing to the surface, but his mischievous nature as a J'imp shines through, and he leads Citren to believe that using a Solar Tablet would reward him with a Broken Hero Sword. Citren believes him, and borrows Solinear's tablet to try it. This summons the Eclipse, turns Citren Tranced, and causes mass panic in Town. Meanwhile, Purpex consults Lunette to get Purification Powder for Marcle.
    • The chapter's name references the phrase "We do a little trolling", particularly referencing the idea that the phrase is often used to justify horrific acts.

(The rest, so far, is a WIP)

Trivia[]

  • The AU takes place just after the Cube's Concert short.
  • Running gags:
    • During events, Cube is always the first to die.
      • Additionally, Cube is always the first to encounter event-based TXT-exclusives. He always asks if they are friendly, before getting attacked.
    • A large amount of bosses are summoned on accident or naturally spawn, leading to unexpected encounters.
      • Most of the accidental summonings are by heroes.
